List of erhu players

This is a list of erhu performers and contains a non-exhaustive list of some of the more notable players. The erhu, sometimes referred to as the Chinese violin, is a musical instrument with two strings.

The erhu produces a characteristic sound due to the skin covering its resonator. As with all bowed string instruments, sound is produced by a bow pulled across the strings to vibrate the soundbox. The erhu does not have a fingerboard as on a violin, stopped notes are produced by the left hand fingers pressing on the strings.

The erhu is most popular in Chinese societies and cultures, therefore, many notable erhu players are ethnically .
